Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) is a method of delivering high-speed internet service that utilises full-fibre optic cabling to connect directly from the local exchange to the your premises. This eliminates the use of traditional copper phone lines, enabling faster and more reliable data transmission. FTTP offers the fastest broadband speeds available, making it an ideal solution for businesses with heavy data usage and high-speed internet requirements.

 G.FAST is a technology that allows for faster internet speeds over traditional copper lines by using a combination of fibre and copper. It is similar to FTTC in that it uses a cabinet on the street, but it uses G.FAST technology to boost the speeds over copper lines. It is generally faster than traditional copper-based options like ADSL2+, but slower and less reliable than FTTP.

FTTC stands for Fibre to the Cabinet, which means that the fibre-optic cable runs to a cabinet on the street, and then uses traditional copper lines to connect to the customer’s premises. This allows for faster internet speeds than traditional copper-based options like ADSL2+, but it is generally slower and less reliable than FTTP (Fibre to the Premises).

ADSL2+ stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line and it is a type of broadband that uses traditional copper phone lines to deliver internet service. It is generally slower and less reliable than fibre-based options like FTTC, FTTP and G.FAST. It is best suited for small to medium-sized businesses with lower internet usage needs.

We're in Brighton and worked with Xoomtalk for around 10 years now, they take care of all our connectivity needs (phone and WIFI). Xoomtalk have provided our broadband for years and more recently our VoIP system. We decided to go with them as they've always been a pleasure to work with, super efficient and helpful. Any broadband issues we have had in the past have been dealt with pretty much instantaneously. We are yet to experience any issues with our new VoIP system, but I'm confident they would support us straight away should anything crop up. We were using a pay-as-you-go VoIP service throughout the pandemic as we weren't sure if we would continue with remote working. Xoomtalk's software and customer service is 10 x better than what we were using before. Also big shout out to Charlie Pree who is our Account Manager.
